About Us

Greece’s natural stone experts and producers of authentic Thassos and Volakas Marble.

At John Papagiannoulis Bros S.A., we pride ourselves on being a leading international company in the natural stone sector. A family business affectionately known as J.PAPA, we specialize in marble extraction, processing and trading.

With operations spanning the globe, 95% of our activities focus on the international market. We extract premium marble blocks from our own quarries in northern Greece, at Volakas and Thassos. We produce exquisite slabs, tiles, vanity units and customised products at our state-of-the-art processing plant in Athens.

Our signature white marbles are sought after for prestigious projects worldwide. With our rich history and long tradition of working with natural stone, our collaborators trust us to deliver impeccable quality every time.

Our Story

Over the last six decades, our company has experienced many memorable moments. Here are some of our most significant milestones.

1962
Start from scratch. Three brothers set up a marble processing factory. They call their company John Papagiannoulis Bros in honour of their father.
National success. The business expands. The next generation joins the leadership team.
International acclaim. J.PAPA wins the Golden Hermes Prize for exports and supplies marble for the construction of Pakistan’s landmark King Faisal Masjid Mosque.
Thassos Quarry. J.PAPA starts quarrying its own premium-quality, total-white marble.
Volakas Quarry. J.PAPA adds extraction of this unique grey-veined marble to its quarry assets.

Today

The third generation joins the team. Capital investment, forward-thinking innovation and global market expansion continue.

Her voice on the Board of the prestigious Natural Stone Institute helps set the future agenda for this respected industry body, in Greece and worldwide.
Stone quarrying and processing are inherently dangerous activities. To safeguard our people and the environment, we continuously invest in new technologies and update our practices to meet industry standards.
